Introduction to Family Constellations

Evening Sessions for Parents, Educators and Non-Profit Leaders

Family Constellation work is an experiential process that provides a way of understanding the family as an energetic system incorporating not only the present generation, but also generations that have gone before. It reveals the family system as a living web, with its own intelligence, that consciously and unconsciously influences the lives of each generation. Some would call this web the ‘soul’ of the family.

Habitual behaviors and issues that impact the lives of present-day family members take on a new meaning when viewed through the lens of a family constellation. We begin to understand how the lives of our ancestors continue to shape generation after generation, often creating particular patterns or suffering. Through family constellation work, it becomes possible to acknowledge and heal these patterns, thus freeing future generations from the suffering of the past.

The Academy for the Love of Learning is exploring the potential for using Family Constellations as an adjunct to its Teacher Renewal work, Parenting program and work with social-benefit organizations. These evening sessions are designed as an introduction to this work, and to invite a conversation about ways in which it might serve families and schools in the Santa Fe community.

Marianne Murray is a member of the core facilitation team, and serves on the Board of Directors. She has a Ph.D. in transformative learning and an MA in transpersonal psychology. She specializes in transpersonal practices in her work with individuals and groups, and is a breathwork practitioner, body worker, and systemic constellations facilitator.
